Meet The Zero Violence254 Team
Meet the amazing team that will attempt the historic Zero Violence254 Walk on 15 March 2017.
John Burke Baidoo and Douglas Kinyua will walk 1,500 kilometers from Kwale deep in the south of Kenya to Moyale – the northern-most tip of Kenya in only 60 days.
John Burke Baidoo
African Director, Legal Services, Ripples International
John Burke Baidoo is a lawyer specializing in human rights activism around women and children.
He earned a law degree from Ghana and trained on Human Rights work in Switzerland.
He is currently a trustee and Africa Director for Legal Services, Ripples International having worked as the first elected Ghanaian Ambassador to the Economic, Cultural, and Social Council (ECOSSOC) of the African Union.
During this period, he worked very closely with several African Heads of states and dignitaries including Kenya’s Nobel Peace Laureate Wangari Maathai.
He continues to work in various capacities to protect and promote respect for the rights of women and children around the world.
He is married to Mercy Chidi Baidoo and together they have five children.
Douglas Kinyua
Project Officer, Ripples International
Douglas Kinyua has a degree in Social sciences from the Moi University and currently functions as the Project Officer for the Ripples International Access to Justice Program.
He also doubles as sports manager at Ripples International. His enthusiasm for sports is unequaled.
Douglas joins John Burke Baidoo as they attempt to make history by pushing the limits of human endurance for a good cause.
His service at Ripples International under this program has seen several women liberated from issues relating to various forms of gender based violence and abuse.
