Zero Violence254: The Penultimate Day

Laisamis To Turbi Township

It's Wednesday 3 May 2017.

This is the penultimate day of the incredible 1,500 km Zero Violence254 walk....

...and it's freezing cold!

To give you a glimpse, it's almost 10 degrees in Turbi township.

It's 143 km to Moyale.

It rained cats and dogs last night.

Some tents got carried away, the grounds flooded and everywhere was dark, dreary and cold.

The weather doesn't help the cause at all. With such powerful winds and rainstorms, progress is limited. Add a very uncomfortable night to that and you have a very hard walk ahead of you.

In many respects, this penultimate day may just rove to be the hardest stretch the team has to cover!

The Walk Must Go On

Yet, with the finish line in distance, this is no time to give up.

And endure the conditions, the team did. They moved on, one step at a time, slowly inching towards their final destination... Moyale.
