John Burke Baidoo is making the impossible 1,500 km Zero Violence254 walk possible. Together with Douglas Kinyua, a project officer with Ripples International, the duo are already making headway on this epic adventure from Kwale through 16 Counties to the quiet dusty town of Moyale sitting on the Kenyan/Ethiopian border. The objective is to create awareness on the ‘Protection Against Domestic Violence Act’, and take an active stand against electoral and domestic violence. A Peek into the Zero Violence254 Walk


15 March 2017

Launch the walk in Lunga Lunga, deep in the heart of Kwale County. Proceed to Mombasa, then Kilifi and then Taita Taveta in four days. Then walk to Voi,Mtito Andei, Sultan Hamud, Makindu, Machakos, Athi River before arriving in Nairobi.


5 April 2017

Arrive in Nairobi to a mammoth celebration. By this time, the team will have covered 550 km. Escorted by the Police, members of diplomatic community and supporters, John and Douglas continue the walk through Kiambu, Muranga, Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi Counties to eventually arrive in Meru.

Arrive in Meru. Meet with members of the clergy, diplomatic community and supporters.Buy a step of John’s epic journey for only Ksh 500/-. Begin the toughest part of the walk – the north-eastern corridor that will take John and Douglas through Isiolo, Archer’s Post into Marsabit County where they will finally arrive in Moyale.
